Nipped over to the village of Beeley, just north of
Matlock in the Derbyshire Peak District where I had good views of the cracking 1st
winter DUSKY
THRUSH which has been showing well
since it was identified from photographs at the weekend. I saw it pretty much the second I arrived
as it made its way slowly to the top of an apple tree before posing nicely for
a couple of minutes before rocketing off over the village calling loudly. I hung around for another hour or so but it
only showed distantly in fields adjacent to the village and didn’t come back to
the orchard.
Record shots only from me in the dull, Derbyshire conditions
Much better views of one - from Taiwan in February this year!
